Open-Mesh

Well, I've been out of touch with the mesh technology for a little while and managed to totally avoid Meraki, which I'm quite thankful about judging by how they've turned round and changed all their terms and conditions, along with nearly tripling the price of the nodes. I feel sorry for anyone who started deploying a mesh based on their technology.

Thankfully, Open-Mesh came along to fill in the void. You can take their firmware and flash the old Meraki nodes (not the new ones, because that violates the new EULA). There is a nice dashboard system and easy to use interface for configuring new nodes. It also allows for automatic over-the-air upgrades of the nodes. All the details are open sourced so you are more than welcome to create your own dashboard.

As soon as I get some wifi cards through, I'll be giving this a try and possibly resurrecting the Lancaster Mesh project.
